Hi, we’re Northern Gas and Power

Northern Gas and Power (a subsidiary of Global Procurement Group) is an international energy procurement specialist and is the largest energy consultancy in Europe. We guide businesses of all sizes ranging from SMEs to global organisations in purchasing their energy contracts.

Join our global team, with our vibrant head office in the UK and offices across Europe, India & Dubai. At NGP, you’ll work alongside experts in energy consultancy, procurement and trading, utilising AI tools to build solutions that drive measurable impact for thousands of organisations worldwide.

The Opportunity

The UK energy market is fast‑moving, unpredictable, and commercially critical. Every day brings new pricing, new risks, and new opportunities – especially in the wake of the 2022 energy crisis. That’s why more businesses are turning to experts like NGP for support.

We’re looking for sharp, reliable professionals who can help customers navigate this complexity and prepare for their next renewal with confidence.

If you’re commercially minded, motivated by results, and ready to take on a high‑impact role in a leading consultancy – this could be your next move.

What exactly will you do?

As an Energy Sales Closer
, you’ll take the lead at the most critical stage of the sales process — converting qualified leads into contracted customers.

You’ll be working directly with businesses that are already engaged and open to change. Your job is to guide them through the final stages of procurement: shaping the strategy, managing the tender, and securing the best commercial outcome. This is a high‑responsibility, high‑reward sales role with a direct impact on revenue and client success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Tender management – You’ll prepare tailored energy procurement tenders based on the customer’s strategy and usage profile, engaging with our panel of over 80 international suppliers to deliver the most competitive outcomes.
  • Commercial negotiation – You’ll lead all supplier and client negotiations, securing cost‑effective contracts that support client goals on budget certainty, sustainability, and risk management.
  • Client onboarding – Once the deal is agreed, you’ll ensure a smooth transition to the account management team, supporting early engagement and client confidence during the onboarding period.
  • Collaborative conversion – You’ll work alongside your Business Development team to close deals at pace, providing pricing insight, product knowledge, and procurement expertise that accelerates decision‑making.
  • Contract strategy – You’ll advise clients on contract types (fixed, flex, blend & extend), renewal timelines, and wider market considerations, ensuring they understand the value of their commercial choices.
  • Governance and compliance – You’ll follow NGP’s internal procurement protocols and compliance standards, representing both the customer and the supplier with transparency and professionalism.

You’ll receive full training and support, including NGP’s pricing tools, procurement workflows, and supplier panel access. This is a high‑performing environment where every deal matters – and where the right person can build a rewarding, long‑term career in energy sales.

What we’re looking for
