About The Role

Definition:

Construction Managers are responsible for ensuring that a construction project is completed on time and within budget. Alternative job titles for Construction managers include site manager, project manager and site agent. Construction managers should be involved from the planning stage of the project right up to and including handover.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for ensuring operational safety accordance with company safety statement.
  • Ensure works are being planned and carried out in a safe manner.
  • Visit sites on a regular basis and assist site staff and operatives.
  • Feed into and help prepare RAMS with the site team – selecting the correct construction methodology.
  • Review and sign off on RAMS.
  • Coordination and management of sub-contractors / suppliers.
  • Feed into the programme for the works at both tender stage and construction stage. At construction stage, you need to ensure that a resourced programme to completion is in place.
  • Assist the site team with the management of the contract budget.
  • Control of labour – including sourcing the necessary labour and control of accommodation / transport for same.
  • Control of plant – working closely with the plant department to ensure we have the necessary plant on site – ensuring correct procurement procedures are followed.
  • Monitoring and recording outputs in conjunction with the site team ensuring that this information is been fed back to the estimating team.
  • Point of contact for the Gangers / Foremen.
  • Point of contact for the Engineers.
  • Maintain and improve relationship with the Client.
About You Requirements:
  • Ideally, an engineering degree or equivalent experience to support your competency in the role.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the civil engineering industry
  • Authorised to work in Ireland i.e. stamp 4 or critical skills visa
  • Full Irish driver licence
