THE EMPLOYER IS: REACH ACROSSAssist with planning, delivery and monitoring of a Contact & Development Programme, that contributes to increased employability, skills-base, knowledge and potential of young people. Support young people in achieving key outcomes - to be safe, to be healthy, to enjoy, to achieve and to make a positive contribution to society. Help young people fulfil their potential and avail of opportunities that will have a long-term personal benefit.
Responsibilities- To assist with recruitment, training, development and monitoring of Volunteer Leaders.
- To assist with information talks and publicity events aimed at recruiting Members for our 2026 Youth Programme.
- To assist with the planning, organising and delivery of activities, residentials and events that promote and create cross-community contact amongst young people in the North-West region.
- To assist with preparations and ideas for weekly Club Nights and after-school contact sessions.
- To assist staff and volunteers with the planning and delivery of our Summer Intervention Scheme and Summer Activity Camp.
- To assist with planning, organising and evaluating a personal development programme for Members that will benefit their skills, employability and confidence levels.
- To assist staff, Leaders and Management with funding applications or fundraising events.
- To assist our Youth Committee to prepare documents and resources for monthly meetings.
- To assist with organising an annual Presentation and Showcase Night, to present project certificates and enable Members to highlight their development and achievements.
- To undertake training or attend conferences that will be of personal or organizational benefit.
- To assist with our School Enrichment Programme, if required.
- To undertake other reasonable duties in the furtherance of project aims and objectives.
- 4 GCSE (A-D) or equivalent (inc English).
- ICT skills in Microsoft Office, PPT and Social Media Platforms.
- Youth or community work experience as a Staff Member or Volunteer within the past 3 years.
- P/T Youth Work Certificate or equivalent, Community or Education Work.
- Good oral & written communication skills.
- Strong inter-personal skills.
- Ability to self-manage and be part of a youth work team.
- Supportive of the aims of REACH Across.
- Able to plan and deliver development courses, events and activities.
- Able to demonstrate a responsible and self-motivating approach.
- Able to work unsocial hours including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays if necessary.
- Clean current Driving Licence.
- Knowledge of current Youth Work Policies & Procedures.
- Child Protection or Mental Health training.
- First Aid training.
- Experience of youth and community administration (Incl. databases, budgets, report-writing, publicity etc).
- A working knowledge of current OCN moderation and accreditation processes.
- Basic accounting procedures such as invoices, receipts, filing, etc.
- Public Relations and Presentation skills.
- Good working knowledge of social media platforms that can be used for publicity or recruitment.
- Good working knowledge of online meeting platforms - Zoom, Teams etc.
- Good communication and interaction skills with peers and young people.
- Display an organised and methodical approach to work especially a care for accuracy, detail and presentation.
- Be aware of current practices, procedures and safeguarding guidelines when working with young people.
