Instructor Demonstrator Plumbing

We are looking for an experienced Instructor Demonstrator – Plumbing for the Bersham Road site. The role is full time and permanent, with a salary ranging from £26,980 to £31,245. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high‑quality practical learning in a modern workshop environment with industry‑standard tools and equipment.

The role will involve:

• Supporting and delivering practical plumbing workshop sessions, demonstrating safe and effective working methods, and preparing tools, materials and equipment.
• Working closely with the course team to support learner progress and contribute to the development of technical skills in pipework, jointing, domestic plumbing systems, installation methods, safe working practices and general workshop procedures.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and well‑organised workshop environment, aiding learner supervision, record keeping and ensuring high standards in students’ practical work.
• Adhering to Coleg Cambria’s guidelines on Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Quality.

• Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 or equivalent in Plumbing or a professionally relevant subject area.
• Relevant commercial or domestic plumbing experience.
• Ability to confidently demonstrate practical plumbing skills and safe working practices to learners.
• Ability to plan and deliver effective practical workshop sessions that enhance learning.
• Demonstrated understanding of current developments within plumbing and building services and ways of keeping up to date.
• Awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching, learning and assessment.
• Good level of IT competence and willingness to learn new IT packages and systems.
• Ability to manage inappropriate behaviour promptly in the classroom or workshop environment.
• Team working skills and ability to support learners across a range of practical abilities.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean and well‑organised working environment.

Welsh skills are essential for this post. The college promotes the Welsh language and culture and offers training plans and incentive payments for bilingual delivery.
