A little more about your role …
WSP are looking for an enthusiastic and diligent Electrical Engineer to join the Maritime team based in the UK.
As part of the team, you will have an opportunity to complement the wide experience of a highly knowledgeable and dynamic team of Maritime experts based in the UK and across the globe.
As one of the team members you will be contributing to the technical delivery of a wide range of UK based and international projects for a variety of clients, ranging from local authorities to private clients and international terminal operators. You will have the opportunity to provide input to all stages of project maturity, including Feasibility Studies, Concept Designs, FEED Studies, Value Engineering and Detailed Design.
You will be working under the supervision of senior team members but you should be able to prepare electrical deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, cable calculations, cable block diagrams, plant layouts, cable routing, cable containment design, switch gear configurations philosophies and produce bill of materials/quantities for electrical systems in accordance with international standards, and client requirements with minimum guidance.
You will be required to draft electrical specifications and review contractor design submissions and assess them against Employers Requirements, specifications, national and international standards, codes and practice and good working practices.
You will work with equipment vendors on developing designs of equipment packages and participating in technical evaluations of vendor designs. You will work with owners, operators and investors to assess the condition of electrical assets and their designs for their capability, risk, opportunity and need for intervention. Additionally, you will also have an opportunity to work closely with the clients and be able to develop project management skills.
Your role will be hybrid based; however, you will have an opportunity to visit sites around the UK to support some of our projects. Also, our overseas projects often provide opportunities to travel, and you may be required to travel for short periods of time.
