The OpportunityA leading global manufacturer is looking to appoint a Design Engineer to join its growing engineering team based in Campsie.
Working within an innovative product development environment, you'll play a key role in designing and developing industry‑leading machinery, supporting both new product introduction and continuous improvement of existing equipment. The RoleReporting to the Product Manager, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical engineering solutions that deliver high‑quality, reliable products for customers worldwide.
Key responsibilities include:- Design and develop new products and enhancements to existing machinery
- Produce 3D models, drawings and engineering documentation using CAD software
- Support product development from concept through to production
- Work closely with manufacturing, purchasing and suppliers to improve product performance and reduce production costs
- Participate in prototype development, testing and product validation
- Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, quality requirements and safety regulations
- Investigate and resolve technical issues and customer feedback
- Provide technical support to production, aftersales and dealer networks
- Keep up to date with industry developments, emerging technologies and competitor products
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing
We're keen to speak with Design Engineers who have:
- Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Previous experience in a mechanical design role within manufacturing
- Strong 3D CAD experience (Creo preferred but other leading CAD packages considered)
- Good understanding of mechanical design principles and hydraulic systems
- Experience working with Product Data Management (PDM) systems
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a practical engineering mindset
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive approach and desire to continuously improve products and processes
