Structural Engineer TLNT1_NI

Location: Londonderry

Structural Engineer Derry £50,000 approx. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chartered Structural Engineer to lead and deliver a range of building structures projects within a consultancy environment. This role combines hands-on design responsibility with full project management ownership, client engagement, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead the structural design of projects across a range of building types and materials
* Prepare and review design calculations, drawings, specifications, and structural models
* Check designs and drawings for accuracy, compliance, and quality, recommending improvements where required
* Manage and coordinate project resources in collaboration with senior engineering leadership
* Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other consultants
* Attend and contribute to project and design team meetings
* Deliver projects in line with agreed timescales, budgets, and scope
* Identify project risks and challenges, implementing mitigation measures and escalating issues where necessary
* Prepare monthly project workload updates, fee forecasts, and financial reports
* Monitor and control project costs and support preparation of project invoicing
* Conduct site inspections and liaise with relevant stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with internal quality systems, health & safety requirements, and statutory regulations
* Mentor and support junior engineers, graduates, and technicians
* Contribute to business development and client relationship growth
* Maintain accurate project documentation in line with management systems Requirements
* Chartered Structural Engineer
* BEng in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
* Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in a similar consultancy environment
* Proven experience designing with all common building materials
* Strong knowledge of current design codes and regulations
* Experience carrying out structural assessments of existing buildings
* Working knowledge of AutoCAD
