Pharmacy Technician

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Fosse Way, a secure facility opened in May 2023. The role supports the health and rehabilitation of inmates by providing high‑quality medication management and patient‑centred care.

• Provide outstanding quality based patient centred care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback.
• Maintain patient medical records to agreed standards and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
• Deliver non‑judgemental care within the scope of professional standards, including timely administration of medicines and analysing cost‑effective prescribing.
• Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
• Other duties as required by the pharmacy team.

Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Sunday service.

Schedule:

7 am – 6 pm Monday–Friday, 7:30 pm – 6:30 pm weekends, 1 weekend in 4, 4‑week rolling rota.

Annual salary: £34,428 – £41,658 per annum, depending on experience.

• NVQ Level 3 or above, BTEC or equivalent.
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD).
• Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.

Preferred – Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.

• Legal right to work in the UK – subject to additional vetting and security checks.
• Subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 – a Disclosure and Barring Service check is required.
• Applicants must have current UK professional registration.
