Overview

Thyme Care Ltd is a dedicated home care agency based in Penzance, Cornwall, specialising in personalised and holistic care solutions. They offer an adult care worker apprenticeship.

Salary and Benefits

Wage: £12,480 to £19,827.60, depending on your age.

National Minimum Wage applies. Travel time paid at minimum wage rate and (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). pence. Company Pension Scheme. Blue Light Card discount scheme.

Training

Adult care worker training course (Level
2).

Working Hours

Weekdays:
Mornings 08:00-15:00, Evenings 16:00-21:30.

Weekends:
Mornings 08:00-14:00, Evenings 16:00-21:30. Exact shifts TBD.

30 hours a week.

Duration

1 year.

Start Date

Thursday 1 October 2026.

Work

Apprentices spend most of their time working and learning on the job.

Training days

Apprentices are required to attend St Austell College one day a week as part of apprenticeship training.

You will receive on- and off-the-job training and support from an assessor and an apprenticeship advisor.

Requirements
  • GCSE in Maths (grade 3/D) or equivalent
  • Other relevant qualifications and industry experience may be considered

Other requirements
  • Must have a driving licence or own transport around the Penzance area.
  • Must be able to work independently and within a team.

  • Upon completion, opportunities to progress to Senior Carer or Supervisor.
  • Potential to transition to an NHS career.
