Bishops Wood Hospital – Bank Shifts – Salary:
Up to £16.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Sterile Services Technician to join the Theatres department.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis; you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Availability required Monday – Saturday.

• Provide a first‑class decontamination sterile service to the Operating Theatres, clinical departments and relevant paramedical departments.
• Assist in the provision of decontamination, checking, assembly, packing, sterilisation and delivery of medical and surgical equipment and sundry items to/for the customer.
• Maintain good working relationships with all customers.
• Promote and maintain Health & Safety within the department.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained to the required safety standard, reporting any faults to Team Leader/Manager.
• Assist the Team Leader in liaising with departments to ensure supply of items is maintained.
• Maintain the accepted Health & Safety requirements for the protection of staff and visitors.
• Comply with all relevant mandatory training.

• Willingness to learn.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Hepatitis B Immunisation is required for this job role.
