We are looking for a Git Hub Enterprise Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the administration, governance, and optimisation of enterprise Git Hub environments. You should have demonstrated experience in administering Git Hub Enterprise at scale, with a strong background in IT systems administration and enterprise platform management.
In this role, you will work closely with engineering teams, security, and leadership stakeholders to ensure the Git Hub Enterprise environments are secure, compliant, and optimized for developer productivity. You will also provide guidance on best practices, implement access controls, and manage the platform across multiple teams and projects.
Key Responsibilities- Take ownership of Git Hub Enterprise administration for customers, managing organisations, repositories, teams, roles, and access permissions.
- Implement and maintain Git Hub governance frameworks and policies, including branch protection, security policies, and change management.
- Manage SSO and identity integration (Azure AD / Entra / Active Directory) for enterprise user access.
- Oversee Git Hub Advanced Security (GHAS) features, such as code scanning, secret scanning, and dependency management.
- Collaborate with engineering, Dev Ops, and security teams to enforce compliance, audit logging, and platform best practices.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows, providing expertise and guidance without being purely a Dev Ops engineer.
- Monitor and optimize platform performance, repository structures, and usage patterns.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to internal teams on Git Hub Enterprise usage and policies.
- Proven experience administering Git Hub Enterprise in large or complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of Git Hub governance, access control, and enterprise policies.
- Hands‑on experience with GHAS features, code scanning, secret scanning, and dependency management.
- Experience with SSO/identity management integration (Azure AD, Entra , or similar).
- Strong systems administration or IT background; comfortable managing enterprise tools at scale.
- Familiarity with Dev Ops principles and CI/CD pipelines; able to provide guidance without being purely a developer.
