** Ground Support Equipment Mechanic
**** UPS – East Midlands Airport (EMA)
** UPS is seeking a skilled and experienced
** Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Mechanic
** to join the team at East Midlands Airport. This is an
** airside role**, working in a well-equipped workshop environment, supporting critical airport operations.

You’ll play a key role as a
** senior mechanic**, maintaining and repairing essential equipment used in aircraft handling and operations.## ##

** What You’ll Need
*** Level 3 qualification in
** HGV Mechanics** (or equivalent)
* Proven experience as a mechanic (GSE or heavy vehicles preferred)
* Strong knowledge of
** mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
*** Experience diagnosing and repairing complex equipment faults
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
* Full, clean driving licence
* Ability to obtain airport security clearance
* Strong attention to detail and a safety-first mindset
* Comfortable working both independently and within a small team
** Desirable:
*** Previous experience in an
** airport environment (ideally EMA)
*** 2–3 years of relevant experience in a similar role## ##
** What You’ll Do
*** Carry out inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on GSE
* Work on equipment such as
** deck loaders, cargo tractors, air start units, and ground power units
*** Diagnose and repair
** mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
*** Perform scheduled servicing (fluid changes, filters, adjustments, etc.)
* Overhaul and rebuild engines, transmissions, and major components
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
* Collaborate with the team to prioritise and complete repairs efficiently
* Ensure workshop cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards are met
* Stay up to date with industry regulations and technical developments
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and suppliers
