Building Supervisor
- Derry/Londonderry (without supervision)
Hours: 20 hours per week
Duration: Temp - ongoing
Our client is seeking to appoint a reliable and motivated
Building Supervisor (Without Supervision) to support the day-to-day operation, security and maintenance in Derry/Londonderry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the library building is safe, secure, clean and well-maintained for staff, visitors and customers.

Main Duties
- Open and close library premises as required.
- Undertake key holder responsibilities and maintain building security.
- Carry out routine building inspections and report maintenance issues.
- Supervise and assist with cleaning activities to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
- Operate cleaning equipment, including electrical cleaning machinery.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety procedures and regulations.
- Support the delivery of library services through effective facilities management.
- Work flexibly across different Libraries NI locations as required.
- Hold a valid full driving licence.
- Minimum of one year's experience working as an Assistant Building Supervisor, Caretaker, Building Attendant or in a similar role within a medium to large building.
- Previous responsibility for building security, including opening and closing premises and key holder duties.
- Knowledge of building cleaning methods and the use of electrical cleaning equipment, such as floor polishing machines.
- Awareness of Health and Safety legislation and practices, including COSHH and/or CLP regulations.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work a flexible shift pattern including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends as required.
- Willingness to work at both the base location and other Libraries NI premises when required.
- Must have no criminal record that would prevent working with children or vulnerable adults.
