Hours: 7.45am – 5.45pm, Monday to Thursday (4-Day week)

Job Title: Mechanical Technician

Description: We are hiring for our client, a specialist advanced manufacturing and automation business delivering bespoke machinery, robotic systems, and engineered solutions to global customers. Operating in a fast‑paced, high‑tech environment, the company places innovation and continuous improvement at the heart of its operations.

The Mechanical Technician will play a pivotal role supporting the assembly, installation, maintenance, and optimisation of mechanical and automated production equipment. This is a varied, hands‑on role involving mechanical systems, pneumatics, and automation, ensuring equipment performs at its best.

  • The Role
    • Carry out mechanical assembly, installation and commissioning of production equipment
    • Perform maintenance, inspections and repairs on machinery
    • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and pneumatic faults
    • Work from technical drawings, schematics and engineering instructions
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and uptime
    • Assist with integration of mechanical systems alongside electrical and automation teams
    • Maintain accurate maintenance and service records
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards
    • Operate tools and equipment safely within a production environment
    The Person
    • Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent (3rd level / time‑served)
    • Strong mechanical aptitude with exposure to pneumatics/hydraulics
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
    • Experience in fault finding and equipment maintenance
    • Hands‑on experience in a manufacturing or automation environment
    • Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
