Manufacturing Operatives – Support (Part-Time) based in Londonderry are sought by Manpower UK for a client within the wafer fabrication sector. This permanent, part-time position involves 15 hours weekly, with a choice between Monday‑Wednesday or Wednesday‑Friday shifts, both running 9:30am to 2:30pm. Responsibilities centre on operating and monitoring production equipment, completing machine tending duties, and adhering to strict procedures to support output targets for data storage components.
Salary is negotiable. This schedule suits those balancing childcare, study, or other commitments, offering consistent daytime work. Prior manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
- Work as part of the Springtown Manufacturing team within a wafer fabrication facility producing recording heads for data storage products.
- Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment to support production targets.
- Perform machine tending activities and follow established production procedures.
- Work within a team environment while contributing to quality, safety, and operational goals.
- Follow all Health andamp;
Safety procedures and wear the appropriate PPE at all times. - Adhere to cleanroom and wafer handling protocols.
- Complete required documentation accurately and follow all relevant procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and undertake training as required.
- All training will be provided by Seagate.
- You have excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
- You possess good manual dexterity and are comfortable handling specialist tools and equipment.
- You are comfortable being on your feet for long periods, with the role involving walking.
- You have basic computer skills.
- You are reliable, punctual, and work well as part of a team.
- You have strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Previous manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Candidates must be available to work their selected shift pattern on an ongoing basis.
Monday to Wednesday – 9:30am to 2:30pm (15 hours per week)
