Technical Manager - FMCG

VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a large FMCG organisation with the recruitment of a Technical Manager to join their team based in Derry/Londonderry.

About your next employer

You'll be joining a large FMCG company operating across the UK and Ireland. The business operates modern food manufacturing facilities and places a strong focus on quality, food safety, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.

About you

• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology or a related discipline
• Significant experience in a Technical Management or Senior Technical role within food manufacturing
• Experience with in meat processing would be highly advantageous
• Proven experience managing and developing Quality Management Systems
• Qualified HACCP Team Leader
• Internal Auditor training with extensive external audit experience
• Strong knowledge of BRCGS, food safety legislation, HACCP, TACCP and VACCP
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills
• Ability to influence, challenge and support decision-making at all levels

What you'll do

• Lead and manage the site's Technical, Quality and Food Safety functions
• Maintain and continuously improve the site's Quality Management System
• Ensure compliance with BRCGS, customer, retailer and regulatory requirements
• Lead HACCP, Food Safety Culture and Quality Improvement programmes
• Manage internal, customer, regulatory and third-party certification audits
• Drive corrective and preventative actions arising from audits, non-conformances and complaints
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to operational and management teams
• Manage customer relationships on quality, food safety and technical compliance matters
• Lead, develop and coach the technical team
• Support continuous improvement, change management and wider site initiatives
