General Sales Assistant; Perm Ladieswear Department

As a General Sales Assistant within our stores, you’ll be delivering an efficient and reliable service to our customers who are at the heart of everything we do. You will be a customer advisor achieving our sales whilst living our Matalan Values; maintaining a high performing, energetic and adaptable energy – all whilst making sure that our customer’s experience in-store is at the forefront of our work.

You’ll have great exposure of a fast‑paced retail sales environment; working across the shop floor, till area and stock room. • Setting up offers and merchandising products effectively across the shop floor
• Handling incoming deliveries and ensuring traceability in the stock room
• Operating tills to assist customers with purchases and resolving any issues
• Ensuring the store is well‑organised and maintains high standards of cleanliness, safety and layout
• Engaging with customers in a friendly and helpful manner, providing assistance and advice when needed
• Meeting sales targets and supporting team sales objectives in line with Matalan’s values
• Communicating effectively, paying close attention to detail, and maintaining the highest standards of customer experience
• Working effectively in a fast‑paced environment with fully flexible availability
