Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour. Additional payments may also apply depending on location and skills.
We offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but you may work fewer hours (minimum of 12) if desired.
The table shows the periods of time in the week we’d like you to be available to work—the availability windows. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times and you’ll have 3 weeks’ notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We support flexibility; if the times you are available closely match but do not exactly match, we’d still love to hear from you.
Customers are at the heart of everything we do.
It takes lots of different people to run a store and this is a job for doers, with plenty of variety, commitment, and excitement.
Key Responsibilities- Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride.
- Being passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within the store.
- Working across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas as required.
- Applying training received so the store works safely, effectively and serves customers brilliantly.
- Making decisions that are right for customers, delivering routines that meet customers’ needs at the right time.
- Participating in seasonal, community and charity events, creating an inclusive atmosphere.
- Being knowledgeable about store performance, understanding the part you play and how to drive service and sales, reduce waste and shrink and deliver profit.
- Handling products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in best condition.
- Living the values, making everyone feel welcome and following policies.
- Accepting deliveries into the store, where required.

PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST BE OVER 18 TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE.
We can only accept candidates over 18 if the role requires working before 6:15 am, after 9:45 pm, or involves warehouse, beer/wine/spirits, counters, bakery or driving roles.
