Accounting Associate

Description

We are looking for an Accounting Associate to support core financial operations for a Contract assignment based in Des Moines, Iowa. This on-site role offers a flexible 25-30-hour work week and is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing day-to-day accounting tasks. The position will focus on invoicing, payment processing, and maintaining accurate financial records while contributing to efficient accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner to support ongoing billing activities.

- Monitor incoming payments, apply receipts correctly, and follow up on outstanding balances as needed.

- Process deposits and maintain clear documentation to ensure accurate cash handling records.

- Reconcile account activity and investigate discrepancies to keep financial data accurate and current.

- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions by maintaining organized records and assisting with routine transactions.

- Review billing information for completeness and accuracy before submission or posting.

- Assist with general accounting activities that help maintain smooth daily financial operations.

Requirements

- Experience working with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

- Knowledge of billing procedures, invoicing, and payment application.

- Ability to work in Excel

- Ability to perform account reconciliations with strong attention to detail.

- Familiarity with general accounting functions and financial recordkeeping.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Comfortable working on-site in Des Moines, Iowa for a flexible 25-30-hour per week schedule.
