Field Service Power Generation Technician

Location: Des Moines, IA.

Sign‑on Bonus: $5,000.00.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Completing repair activities on generators or components
• Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
• Performing maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintaining detailed records of service
• Adhering to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintaining own tools

• Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
• High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
• Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands‑on exposure to working on power generation products.
• Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators.
• Basic Diesel Engine experience.
• Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.

• Maintain valid driver’s license and DOT Medical Card.
• Provide own basic hand tools.
• On‑call rotation for emergency call‑outs on nights and weekends.
• Out‑of‑state travel for training.
• Occasional mandatory overtime and weekend work.
• Basic knowledge of engine components.
• Basic knowledge of electricity.

• Apprentice trained Power Generation / Electrical Technician (preferred).
• Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution.
• Current relevant electrical certification.
• Locally valid driving permit.

• Related experience required.
• Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products.
• High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. • A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire.
• Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older.
• A current valid license is required for this role.
• This role requires a 5‑year motor vehicle report, free from major violations.
• This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). years driving experience.
• This role is subject to Department of Transportation  regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use.
• Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older; applicant must be 21 years of age.
