We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Des Moines, IA.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Completing repair activities on generators or components.
• Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Performing maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools.
• Maintaining detailed records of service.
• Adhering to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products.
• Maintaining own tools.

Qualifications

• Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
• High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
• Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands‑on exposure to working on power generation products.
• Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators.
• Basic Diesel Engine experience.
• Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.

Additional Requirements

• A current valid license is required for this role.
• This role requires a 5‑year motor vehicle report, free from major violations.
• This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). years driving experience.
• This role is subject to DOT driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use.
• Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older; applicant must be 21 years of age.
• A CDL may be required upon hire.
• Must provide own basic hand tools.

Apprentice Trained Power Generation/Electrical Technician (Preferred), Vocational diploma, Current electrical certification, Valid driving permit.
