Overview
MSA Professional Services seeks a highly skilled and motivated Graduate Engineer Public Works in our Des Moines, Iowa office. In this role, you d work with a team on municipal engineering projects ranging from utilities, stormwater, site development, roads, construction, and more. This is a salaried position with Flex Time eligibility.

Responsibilities- Preparation of work plans and engineering services contracts, invoices, and amendments
- Planning, design, bidding, and construction engineering services on various municipal projects
- Preparation of details, specifications, and bidding documents using Microsoft Word
- Preparation of regulatory permits for projects
- Preparation of construction cost estimates
- May perform construction administration duties such as documenting activities, communicating with project managers regarding status and progress, measuring and testing, providing general oversight, and interacting with contractors, sub-contractors, residents, and City staff
- Complete project administration for municipal projects, including attending client meetings
- Opportunity to receive training and mentoring on project management and client liaison duties
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required or expected by May 2026
- Previous engineering internship preferred
- IA EIT certification preferred
- Must have authorization to work in the United States for any employer; we will not provide sponsorship for this position
- Salary range: $62,615 to $81,400, with higher compensation possible for candidates with significant experience or exceptional qualifications
