IMEG is seeking an Electrical Project Designer in Rock Island, IL or Des Moines, IA to help design innovative power distribution, lighting, and specialty electrical systems for a wide range of building and infrastructure projects. As an Electrical Project Designer, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-performance, energy-efficient solutions for clients in industrial, government and data center sectors. You’ll use industry-leading tools like AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, and AGi

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design for electrical systems and mentor junior staff
- Research, coordinate, verify, schedule and document various design aspects
- Build, maintain, and develop client relationships
- Quickly solve problems and seek the advice of the Project Manager
- Perform services as required by the contract services agreement
- Perform electrical calculations, system design, equipment selection, reporting, BIM coordination, and progress submittals
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
- Engineering In Training (EIT) Certification preferred
- 3 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry OR Associate’s degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred with 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting
- Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
- Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings
- Proficient with industry standard engineering software and tools including lighting
- photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; power system analysis and design software such as SKM/PTW, Easy Power, or other; and proficiency in the use of BIM software and CTC Revit Add In Tools
- Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards
- Proficient with energy compliance software such as Com Check;
Adobe or Bluebeam Revu; the use of reference material resources such as NFPA Link, Tech Street, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI) - Proficiency in Smart Engineering Design Assist (SET) Tools within Revit for electrical calculations, coordination, properties, etc. Knowledge of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS
- Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays
