Responsibilities- Handle multi-state sales/use tax recovery projects for large, sophisticated organizations as part of EY’s Sales and Use Tax Lookback Review COE.
- Build and apply your knowledge on a wide range of sales and use tax recovery projects for clients in multiple industries.
- Collaborate in a highly connected, mentor-led environment to deliver up-to-date tax advice to clients.
- Researching clients’ business operations and building long-lasting relationships
- Identifying applicable sales and use tax exemptions and exclusions
- Identifying potential over payment opportunities or risks and communicating these to clients
- Monitoring current tax law changes to maintain credibility as a trusted advisor
- Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches for sales and use tax recoveries
- Preparing and defending sales and use tax refund claims
- Participating on and, where applicable, leading a motivated team of professionals
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline
- Professional knowledge in a broad range of sales and use tax processes, concepts and tools
- Experience managing budgets, people and projects
- Proven track record in a professional services or tax organization
- Technical writing and research experience in a tax context
- Ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects
- Strong influencing skills and the confidence to question existing processes
- Willingness to travel as needed and a balanced hybrid work environment
- An achieved CPA qualification, certification as a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, CMI designation, or be a member of a state bar

What We Offer You- A comprehensive compensation and benefits package. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $105,100 to $192,600. In NYC Metro Area, WA, and CA (excluding Sacramento) the range is $126,100 to $218,900. Salaries are determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. Total Rewards includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and paid time off options.
- Hybrid model with most client-facing roles working in person 40-60% of the time over a project or year.
