Associate, Private Markets Product

What You'll Do

We’re looking for a Private Markets Product Manager with a specific focus on real estate to define, develop, implement, and maintain investment products through their lifecycle! In this role, you’ll serve as a liaison with the distribution teams, product specialists, and product development.

• Assess competitor capabilities, figure out the best industry practices, and examine what differentiates best in class products and managers allowing the team to build strategies and find opportunities that are durable, profitable and aligned with the vision and objectives of Principal Real Estate
• Collaborate with Product Development and the distributions teams to coordinate timely and thorough communication to investors to support their investment due diligence effort
• Project manage and socialize fund launches with all relevant partners across Principal Asset Management
• Assist with the structuring and documentation of new and existing funds
• Work closely with Sales Support Team and Portfolio Management teams to develop the fund’s marketing materials to effectively market funds globally
• Maintain technical expertise and understanding of legal, regulatory and tax considerations when structuring new fund vehicles

• 3+ years work experience in commercial real estate
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business or related field
• Practical experience with private real estate investments
• Knowledge of real estate markets, macro environment, and geopolitical landscape

• Highly organized, numerate with strong attention to detail and excellent project management skills
• Clear communicator, both verbally and written for both internal and external audiences
• Practical knowledge of fund product development and management

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

$89,300 - $108,000 / year

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

This role will be based out of our World Headquarters located in Des Moines, IA. and offers the ability for in‑office or four days in‑office and one day remote. You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
