Systems Engineer

Systems Engineer 2 opportunity available in Des Moines, IA with Embark—your technical depth meets client impact. Embark is a growing IT provider based in Iowa, delivering diverse technologies and supporting businesses across the region with expertise in Microsoft cloud, cybersecurity, networking, and infrastructure solutions. This Systems Engineer 2 role focuses on leading technical projects and supporting customer environments within a managed services model.

You will own infrastructure, networking, cloud, and security implementations while serving as a trusted technical resource for both customers and internal teams.  What Embark Offers:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical implementation of infrastructure, networking, security, and cloud projects
• Administer Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra , and Intune environments
• Design and support wired and wireless network environments, including configuration of switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN technologies
• Serve as an escalation resource for complex technical issues and perform root-cause analysis
• Mentor junior technicians and serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients Requirements:
• 4+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or managed IT services
• Experience with TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, Microsoft Defender, Azure, and Veeam
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant technical experience considered
• Preferred certifications:
