Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird seeks a lawyer to serve as an Assistant Attorney General in the Statewide Prosecutions Section, a sexually violent predator prosecutor.
Description
The Attorney General’s Office seeks a proactive and dedicated attorney to join the Statewide Prosecutions Section. This role will primarily focus on handling sexually violent predator cases as found in Iowa Code 229A. The attorney will also prosecute a variety of criminal cases, appear in courtrooms across the state both in-person and virtually, and serve as a key liaison for county attorneys and local law enforcement.
Requirements
- License to practice law in Iowa.

- Demonstrated research, writing, and oral‑advocacy skills.
- Experience as a prosecutor and in practicing both criminal and civil law is highly competitive.
Pay And Benefits

Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Graduated from an accredited school of law.
- Admitted to the Iowa State Bar and appropriate federal courts at the time of appointment.
