The Waldinger Corporation is seeking a dynamic Manager of Accounting – Mergers & Acquisitions and Process Optimization to join our Corporate Accounting team in Des Moines, Iowa
. Lead financial integrations of acquired entities and drive process improvements across our accounting function.
- Lead accounting due diligence and post-acquisition integration for acquired entities
- Evaluate and align processes, systems, and controls with corporate standards
- Execute transition plans and monitor integration progress
- Oversee team members recording and reconciling M&A transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls and financial reporting standards
- Lead projects that improve corporate accounting and reporting processes
- Standardize policies, leverage technology, and eliminate inefficiencies
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Implement accounting automation and streamline month-end close processes
- Serve as project manager for cross-departmental initiatives
- Communicate goals, timelines, and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels
- Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and Operations teams
- Monitor emerging trends and tools to strengthen accounting effectiveness
- Promote a culture of process ownership and proactive problem-solving
- Track and report on process improvements using KPIs and performance metrics
Required Qualifications
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or M&A-focused role
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA required or actively pursuing certification
- Public accounting experience preferred (Big 4 or regional firm a plus)
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Strong leadership and project management capabilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strategic mindset with proven success driving process improvements
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities
- Experience with ERP systems and accounting software
- Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
