Responsibilities
  • Leads a team of people by example in the areas of attitude, work quality, work ethic, dependability, and communication.
  • Leads employees and provides direction to complete required tasks.
  • Follows applicable procedures, instructions, engineering drawings, and training.
  • Train employees according to departmental training requirements.
  • Monitors employees in their jobs and assists as necessary. Assigns their job as needed.
  • Answer employee questions involved with the Leads respective area.
  • Interfaces with supervision and/or management to ensure assigned duties are completed accurately. This may include interfacing with employees in other departments.
  • Develops work instructions and requests documentation changes as required.
  • Works as an effective member of the team.
  • Ensures area is clean, organized and well maintained.
  • Completes all documents and records required.
  • Participates in investigations of non-conforming product, as necessary.
  • Proficiency at setting up the line for new production run.
  • Closes out work orders.
  • Submits maintenance requests, as needed.
  • Monitors hourly production output and makes adjustments as necessary to meet our goals.
  • Improves 5S, especially regarding cleanliness and organization of work cell.
  • Trains and mentors other leads.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job. Punctuality and regular attendance are crucial for efficient plant operations, safety, and morale.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required.
Authority
  • Trains lower-level employees in the Leads respective area.
  • Assign employees to jobs in the respective area.
  • Interface with other departments as necessary.
  • Work on continuously improving the organization and function of the department by suggesting procedural improvements.
Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Able to lead and influence others by example in the areas of attitude, work quality, work ethic, dependability, and communication.
  • Able to read and understand the product criteria on engineering drawings.
  • Able to direct and train employees.
  • Able to supervise multiple activities or jobs simultaneously in an accurate manner.
  • Able to work and communicate well with others.
  • Able to read and write English.
  • Good work attendance and dependability.
  • Knowledge of various controls and procedures such as error rates, shortages, and cycle counting.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to complete a position assessment test.

Work Environment

Majority of time spent working in the storeroom or on the production floor.
