Chemical Production Technician
Job Description
As a Chemical Production Technician, your role will involve processing raw materials and chemicals following a batch record to mix the correct chemicals to create the final product. You will utilize various machines to measure the amount of raw material, take samples for lab quality testing, and operate a crane to lift large chemical bags. This is a physical role requiring you to climb stairs to reach the top of tanks and use computer skills to monitor and control tank levels.
You will be suited in a full uniform and respirator mask due to chemical exposure and must be open to performing other work-related duties as assigned.
- Read batch records and recipes; check balances to ensure the correct amount of raw material is added.
- Measure chemicals of raw material to be added and use math skills for accuracy.
- Operate machines for mixing raw materials and ensure proper chemical mixing and formulation.
- Report with attention to detail and follow instructions while working independently.
- Exhibit physical strength for lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
- Experience in machine operation, utility technician, and production technician roles.
- Proficiency in quality control, scale operation, and measurement equipment.
- Ability to work with formulation and chemical mixing processes.
Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2-4 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to take initiative, learn, and collaborate with a team.

This is a fully on-site position within a manufacturing facility in Des Moines, Iowa. You will be working in a shift of 2nd shift from Monday to Friday, starting between 2pm to 4pm for 8hr/10hr shifts. The environment includes a chemical plant, with exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and biological hazards. Dress code includes uniforms, steel-toed boots, hair nets, and showering after the shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
