The Coordinator I, Global Youth Programs & Partnerships provides operational and administrative support of the World Food Prize Foundation’s Youth Programs across the U.S. and globally, with a focus on Youth Institutes. The position provides organizational support on program planning, design and delivery; communications, outreach and partner engagement; operational logistics; and event planning and coordination.
Duties and Responsibilities Event Logistics & Support- Coordinate and support aspects of event planning including preparation, on-site coordination and post-event follow-up
- Logistics, travel arrangements and bookings
- Site layout and setup
- Event coordination for virtual and in-person events
- Domestic/international travel 1-3 times a year to support in-person events
- Engage and regularly correspond with students, educators and other stakeholders through a variety of communication channels
- Draft outreach and written communication for internal and external usage
- Serve as a representative of the Foundation by presenting to a variety of audiences and facilitating activities, workshops, tours and trainings
- Create unique and effective content and activities that support and enhance the education, empowerment and experiential learning opportunities for students, educators and other stakeholders
- Support partnership development efforts and day-to-day relationship management tasks
- Data management and tracking of program and participant information
- Website updates and support of the Youth Programs online presence
- Direct administrative support to Program Managers and Directors
- Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years relevant experience required. Generally, 4-6 years of experience may substitute for educational requirements.
- Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail, communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively while managing complex projects and working independently in a high-volume environment.
- Knowledge of issues in food security, agriculture, sustainable development preferred.
- Cross-cultural competency and experience working with diverse groups required; international experience a plus.
- Experience with database management required.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, especially Google Sheets (Smart Sheet experience is valuable), and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams). Experience using Salesforce CRM database is considered a plus.
Physical Requirements
Work will consist of a combination of virtual and on-site meetings and events. This role may involve travel across the country and/or internationally. May be required to lift up to 25 - 50 lbs (generally office supplies or event props). Long periods sitting, may stand for prolonged periods during events. Some bending, stooping may be required.
This is not a remote position - must be in-person in Des Moines, IA.
