American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) role requiring 24 months of Telemetry/Cardiac experience and a compact or IA RN license.
Details- Work in the Cardiology PCU/Stepdown unit of a hospital
- Patient population includes rhythm disturbances, heart failure, MI, CCL recovery, and medical-surgical overflow
- 24-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:3-5 days and 1:5-6 nights
- Night shift schedule, 3x12s, 36 hrs/week
- Required to work every 3rd weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Tele tech unit monitoring in place
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Floating required across Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist campuses
- Active IA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
- Minimum 24 months of Telemetry/Cardiac, Stepdown, or PCU experience required
- Experience with ICD and Pacemaker patient populations required
- Cardiac rhythm interpretation experience required
- Cardiac drip/titration experience required (Nitro, Cardene, Heparin, Dilt, Dopamine, etc.)
- Level II Trauma experience required;
Level I Trauma experience preferred - EPIC EMR experience required
- Driver's License required for consideration
- Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months preferred
- First-time travelers accepted with at least 12 months of Med/Tele, Cardiac/Tele, or PCU experience
- Provide nursing care for cardiac and telemetry patients, including rhythm monitoring and cardiac drip management
- Navy blue, solid-color scrubs required
- Holiday coverage required for 1-2 of the 3 upcoming Winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) unless the unit is closed
- Local candidates not accepted within 50 miles of the facility based on driver's license address
- Past UPH employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are not eligible to work travel assignments at other UPH market facilities if employed within the past 12 months
