American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) night shift position requiring 24 months of PICU experience and PALS certification.
Requirements- Active IA state RN license or compact/multistate license required
- Current BLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) certifications required
- Minimum 24 months of PICU/Pediatric Intensive Care experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Vent and high flow equipment experience highly preferred
- Alaris IV pump and feeding pump experience highly preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months preferred
- Work in a 12-bed, all-private-room PICU caring for critically-ill or injured infants, children, and teens
- Night shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts, 36 hrs/week, working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- Weekend requirement of every 4th weekend
- Minimal, as-needed on-call requirements
- Floating required to NICU, General Pediatrics, and ED patient holds as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in a family-centered care environment
- Part of a dedicated pediatric critical care team supported by pediatric critical care physicians
- Must be willing to float to NICU (feeders and growers population), General Pediatrics, and ED patient holds when needed
- Holiday rotation required, including working 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as no local candidates are being considered
- Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments at any UPH facility within 12 months of separation
