American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift Pediatrics RN requiring IA or compact license, PALS certification, and recent pediatric experience for a 13-week assignment in Des Moines.

• Pediatrics unit (Peds B3-Meth) caring for Peds Hem/Onc, Med Surg, and all pediatric specialties
• 23-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:3-5
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts
• Every 3rd weekend required
• On-call only during scheduled shifts for low census
• Float coverage required across ED boarders, PICU, NICU, and Peds Onc/Hem as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active IA or compact/multistate RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Current PALS certification (AHA)
• Minimum 12 months of pediatric experience required
• Pediatric experience within the previous 18 months required
• Epic EMR experience within the previous 12 months required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred

• Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients across hematology/oncology, medical-surgical, and specialty populations
• May float to NICU, PICU, and Peds ED as unit needs require
• Holiday coverage required for 1-2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers welcome to apply with at least 12 months of pediatric experience
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) may be restricted from travel assignments at other UPH market facilities within 12 months of separation
