American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit position requiring 24 months of PICU experience and a willingness to float to NICU, General Pediatrics, and ED patient holds.
Details- 12-bed all-private-room PICU staffed by pediatric critical care physicians
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (36 hrs/week) on Fri, Sat, Sun
- Every 4th weekend required
- Minimal, as-needed on-call requirements
- May float to NICU (feeders/growers), General Pediatrics, and ED patient holds as needed
- Holiday rotation required
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
- BLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA) certifications required
- Minimum 24 months of PICU/Pediatric Intensive Care experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with vents and high-flow equipment highly preferred
- Experience with Alaris IV pumps and feeding pumps highly preferred
- Must be willing to float to NICU and ED patient holds
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months preferred
- Care for critically ill or injured infants, children, and teens in a family-centered environment
- Part of a hospital system offering a Pediatric Transport Team for higher-level pediatric care across the state
- Unit features private patient rooms with family consultation and lounge spaces
- Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless unit is closed
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN) may be restricted from travel assignments in other markets within 12 months of separation
