Shift: Nights, 3x12
Weekends: Every 3rd weekend | Holidays: Holiday rotation
Call: Only during scheduled shifts, for low census
Contract weeks: 13 | Orientation: 1/4
EMR: Epic

Unit Overview

• 23 beds
• Ratios: 1:3–5
• Patient types: pediatric hem/onc, med-surg, and all pediatric specialties
• Float: ED boarders, PICU, NICU, and peds onc/hem (B4) when needed

Requirements

• Pediatric experience within the previous 18 months
• Epic experience within the previous 12 months
• First-time travelers welcome with at least 12 months of pediatric experience
• Certifications:
  
  BLS (AHA or ARC) and PALS (AHA)
• Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license, shown on the Nursys verification at submission
• No locals: candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility, based on driver’s license
• Quick interviews: a phone call or text from a 405 area code

Profile Requirements

• Work history must show at least 12 months of pediatric experience
• Skills checklist must be specific to pediatrics
• Driver’s license copy
• Professional reference or performance evaluation from within the last 24 months (charge, supervisor, manager, director, CNO, or COO), preferred
