American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Level II trauma hospital in Des Moines, IA, requiring strong renal, urology, and transplant experience along with a prior travel contract.

• Work on a 22-bed Med/Surg unit treating general medical-surgical, renal, transplant, and urology patients
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Required to float across campuses to like units at Iowa Methodist, Iowa Lutheran, and other affiliated hospitals
• Every 3rd weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active IA or compact/multistate RN license required
• Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC
• Minimum of 24 months of Med/Surg experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• Strong experience in renal and urology care required
• Proficient transplant care experience required
• Level II trauma experience required
• Level I trauma experience highly preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• At least one travel contract completed within the previous 15 months required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Skills checklist specific to Med/Surg discipline required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, or CNO/COO within the last 24 months preferred

• Provide direct patient care across a diverse Med/Surg population including renal, transplant, and urology cases
• Facility is a Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital with a strong cardiac and cancer care program
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Holiday rotation required, including working 1-2 of the 3 winter holidays (must be available to work Thanksgiving)
• Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility to qualify for travel rate eligibility
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments at any UPH facility within 12 months of separation
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position due to the travel contract requirement
