American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital assignment requiring 24 months of recent Med/Surg experience and PCA/heparin drip experience.

• Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting (30-bed unit)
• Patient population includes hip/knee, mastectomy, and abdominal surgery patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Utilizes PCA and heparin drips
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Night shift, 4x12 hr shifts, 48 hrs/week with a 36 hr option
• Required to work every 3rd weekend
• Required to float across campuses to like units
• No on-call requirements
• Unit has an emotional support canine

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 24 months of Med/Surg experience in a hospital or medical center setting required
• PCA and heparin drip experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Post-op surgical experience highly preferred
• Patient care experience with hip/knee, mastectomy, and abdominal surgery patients highly preferred
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
• Valid driver's license required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg unit including post-operative and drip management
• Required to work 1-2 of the 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) unless the unit is closed
• Limited time off requests permitted during the winter holiday period
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates are not accepted within 50 miles of the facility
• Past UPH employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are restricted from working travel assignments at other UPH market facilities within 12 months
