American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring 24 months of recent Med Surg/Tele experience and current Charge RN experience.

• Med/Surg unit providing care for all types of med surg patients, including overflow post-op surgical hip and knee cases
• Patient ratios of 4-5:1 with a 24-bed unit
• Utilizes heparin drips and remote tele tech monitoring
• Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts, 48 hours/week (36 hours can be accommodated if preferred)
• Weekend rotation required, either every other or every third weekend depending on staffing/census
• No call requirements
• Required to float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist
• Holiday rotation required

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Minimum 24 months of recent Med Surg/Med Surg Tele experience required
• Recent/current Charge RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg/Med Surg Tele discipline required
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months preferred

• Provide med surg/telemetry level care including management of post-op surgical hip and knee overflow patients
• Navy blue, solid-color scrubs required
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No blocked shifts permitted
• Department prefers candidates willing to extend beyond the initial 13-week contract
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN) are ineligible to work travel assignments at any UPH market facility if employed within the past 12 months; this restriction does not apply if prior work was as a travel contractor
• Winter holiday coverage required (2 of 3: Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)
• Limited time-off requests permitted during peak holiday periods (11/26-11/30 and 12/23-1/2)
