Summer seasonal Environmental Monitoring Field Technician positions available
DES MOINES - Summer seasonal positions at Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Water Quality Bureau are open for applications until December 31.
Environmental Monitoring Field Technicians assist the bureau’s Water Quality Monitoring and Assessment (WQMA) and Water Quality Improvement (WQIS) sections with water quality and biological sampling across the state’s waters.
Candidates selected for these positions will have diverse duties including lake and stream water quality sampling, soil sampling, stream habitat surveys, and conducting invertebrate and fish surveys via electro-shocking.
Environmental Monitoring Field Technicians travel to various monitoring sites across the state, in both team and solo capacities. They work in streams, shallow lakes and wetland areas. Environmental Monitoring Field Technicians also maintain monitoring equipment and assist with data entry.
