Overview
Power & Tel is seeking a Sales Associate to support customer inquiries, generate leads, and assist account managers throughout the sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities- Learn and utilize CRM and ERP systems (Salesforce, SXe, Power
BI) to locate customer information and execute quote and order entry. - Assist Account Managers with customer inquiries through the company website and provide quotes or information as needed.
- Conduct outbound prospecting calls to develop quality leads and opportunities for designated regions.
- Accurately forecast and track leads and activities (calls, emails, meetings) using Salesforce CRM.
- Convey product knowledge to potential customers, adhering to company messaging and positioning.
- Consult prospects on how Power & Telephone Supply can address their business challenges and define opportunities for allocation to other sales channels.
- Recapture lost customers that have not purchased from Power & Tel.
- Maintain customer files, including quotes, correspondence, plans, and problems, updating information in the computer system.
- Enter quotes and orders into the computer system while on the phone with customers.
- Advise District Sales Managers of pending quotations, bids, leads, competitive information, and sales possibilities.
- Establish gross profit percentages for bids, process return authorizations, send correspondence and literature, and manage back‑order reports.
- Maintain close contact with Purchasing to advise on stock levels, competitive market prices, and vendor pricing discrepancies.
- Set up initial and follow‑up calls on high‑quality sales opportunities from marketing campaigns, distribution partners, trade shows, and conferences.
- Serve as backup to Account Managers on vacation within specific territories.
- Qualify leads quickly and confidently with customer service.
- Participate in departmental cross‑training and self‑development to build skills for future success and advancement.
- Maintain system integrity by updating or deleting obsolete customer information and notes when necessary.
