Base pay range$65,000.00 – $83,000.00 per year.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician with specialized experience in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of various low voltage systems including fire alarm, access control, security, IP camera/CCTV, nurse call, tenant entry, intercom, and data/network.
Job Functions andKey Responsibilities
- Willingness to travel (30%) within the region and out of state as needed. Travel time, expenses, and daily M&I per diem paid by Caspian.
- Install, program, maintain low voltage systems and associated cabling.
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on alarm systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with alarm panels, sensors, and related low voltage equipment.
- Configure and integrate alarm systems with network infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation with monitoring software and remote access.
- Collaborate with clients to assess needs and ensure systems meet project specifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations, service calls, and system configurations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, industry standards, and local codes.
- Assist with training junior technicians and end‑users on system operation and maintenance.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and advancements.
- 1-2 years’ experience in installation and service of Structured Cabling, Video Surveillance, Access Control, Nurse Call, Fire Alarm, or IP/CCTV Camera Systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electronics, electrical systems, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong knowledge of low voltage wiring, access control systems, and security integration.
- Familiarity with network protocols and IP‑based security systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team with strong communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel to job sites.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
- Self‑starter with initiative, willingness to learn new systems, and take on complex technology projects.
- Basic computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) helpful.
- Proficient writing and communication skills.
- Professional customer service attitude.
- Ability to work well with little to no supervision.
- Collaboration with other trades and contractors on multi‑disciplinary projects.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Comfortable working at heights and in various environmental conditions.
