Overview
Fleet Services by Cox Automotive keeps fleets moving with on‑site mobile maintenance and repair for light, medium, and heavy‑duty trucks and trailers across the United States.
Responsibilities- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment such as electrical, brake, cooling, starter/alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
- Inspect, test, and use tools and instruments (handheld computers, gauges, pressure gauges) to diagnose malfunctions.
- Road‑test vehicles to verify proper functioning.
- Manage parts inventory, reconcile equipment, and maintain company‑issued service truck with safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.
- Document work, upload pictures, and enter parts and findings on Repair Orders using company iOS device and TRAIT application.
- Maintain high productivity, comply with safety, health, and environmental policies, and meet standard repair times.
- High school diploma or GED and 3 years of related experience; advanced education or 5 years of experience acceptable.
- Hand tools and basic mechanical tool set available.
- ASE T8 (PMI) certification required within 18 months of hire.
- DOT pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical required; valid DOT medical card with at least 4 months to expiration acceptable.
- Valid state driver’s license; minimum age 21.
