Electrical Apprentice / Electrician Des Moines, Iowa Full-time / Entry - Experienced Electricians Entry $17/hour - Experienced $26/hour Job Description

Join a leading electrical contractor in Iowa, working on diverse projects including commercial, residential, utility, solar, audio-video, and fire projects. We are seeking dedicated electrical apprentices or experienced electricians to assist with various projects. This role has a focus on learning and development in the trade and building a long-term career in the electrical field of Des Moines, Iowa.

• Assist crew with daily tasks on commercial or residential projects.

• Run and bend conduit, as well as run and pull cable.

• Hang electrical boxes and fixtures.

• Run Romex cable in residential and multifamily settings.

• Correctly use hand and power tools.

• Read a tape measure accurately to 1/16th of an inch.

• Commit to learning, shadowing, and training in the electrical trade (entry-level experience).

• Commit to extended projects in the electrical field (Experienced).

• Understanding of electrical systems and components.

• Ability to utilize hand/power tools.

• Experience with electrical troubleshooting and conduit bending.

• Basic math skills for adding, subtracting, and dividing.

• Ability to bend, twist, kneel, and climb ladders.

• Valid driver's license along with reliable transportation.

• Ability to pass background screening (No Unlawful Acts on Record).

• Prior experience in commercial or residential electrical work.

• Experience in appliance installation and finishing work, such as installing light receptacles and replacing lights or wiring.

Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with optional overtime on Saturdays. We promote a balanced work-life environment and provide necessary PPE. Dress code includes jeans without holes, professional t-shirts, and work boots. Candidates should bring basic hand tools such as a hammer, tape measure, screwdriver, and wire strippers.
