We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our Distribution business in Des Moines, IA. In this role you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance and repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development and certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Primarily engaged in maintenance or basic repairs, diagnostics
• Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality
• Demonstrates an understanding of access to engine repair process information sources
• Understands after‑treatment system and can identify major components and their function at a rudimentary level
• Has worked on external components on a diesel engine and understands the basic concepts
• Has some knowledge of engine diagnostic software

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. • Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

• Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution

• Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
• Valid driver’s license and a clean 5‑year motor vehicle record

• Minimal level of workshop experience required

• Basic knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

• Communicates effectively
• Ensures accountability
• Mechanical knowledge of Cummins and industry standards, including safe work procedures and PPE
• Repair and maintain mechanical/electrical products following guidelines and using required tools within standard repair time
• Disassembles and assembles engines or power generators following guidelines
• Inspects and replaces parts and components following re-use guidelines to minimize customer cost of ownership
