Overview
Aerospace Cadmium Plating Operator - 2nd Shift at Hytek Finishes Co. This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position located in Kent, WA.
Schedule:
2nd Shift; training on 1st Shift for 3–6 months. Hytek production operates 24 hours with the following shifts: 1st shift, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.; 2nd shift, 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.; 3rd shift, 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.

Department:
Plating (Cadmium, Chromium, Zinc Nickle, Passivate, Titanium-Cadmium)
- Work closely with experienced Operators and Department Leads to complete work and prioritize tasks.
- Follow technique cards, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced Operators and Department Leads; sign off on work once completed and after Operator Self Verification inspection.
- Review paperwork and perform Operator Self Verification to ensure previous operations are complete; notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors.
- Prepare parts prior to operations including mechanical or chemical cleaning; use proper tooling and fixtures where applicable.
- Maintain knowledge of pre- and post-cleaning surface finish requirements.
- Adhere to Quality Assurance requirements and rework procedures.
- Understand engineering drawing notations.
- Follow safety precautions to prevent injuries to self and others.
- Develop new product processing and identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to drive productivity, delivery, and service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment and annual physical Cadmium/Chromium exam and spirometry; ability to wear a respirator.
- Participation in annual Hearing Conservation testing and Eye Exams may be required.
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE (safety glasses, goggles or face shields, aprons, boots, gloves, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to train and positively influence others.
- Self-starter; able to work independently, as a team, and with internal/external customers.
- Excellent accuracy with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to solve tactical and strategic problems; able to learn and use Lean tools and techniques.
- Regular and dependable attendance.
- Ability to read/write/communicate in English and perform basic math calculations.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.; export license may be required to work in all facility areas.

Experience:
1–2 years in manufacturing or manufacturing production environment a plus.
