1st Shift (Mon–Fri, 6:00–2:30 a.m.) - Facility
Hours:
24 hrs/day – 1st shift:
Mon–Fri 6:00–2:30, 2nd shift:
Mon–Fri 2:00–10:30, 3rd shift:
Sun–Fri 10:00–6:30
This is a Plating Operator trainee position in the Plating department (Cadmium, Chromium, Zinc Nickel, Passivate, Titanium‑Cadmium). Employees learn tasks to process Cadmium plating parts and develop into proficient Plating Operators. Operators may be required to join the FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program and must perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications.
FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program: initial drug test including THC screening and quarterly drug & BAT testing.
Responsibilities- Work closely with experienced Operators and Department Leads to complete work and prioritize tasks.
- Follow technique card, purchase orders, and instructions; sign off on work after Operator Self‑Verification inspection.
- Review paperwork and inspection results to ensure all previous operations were completed; notify supervisor and QA of any errors.
- Prepare parts prior to operations (cleaning, tooling, fixtures).
- Know pre‑ and post‑cleaning surface finish requirements.
- Understand Quality Assurance requirements and rework procedures.
- Read engineering drawing notations.
- Follow safety precautions to avoid injury.
- Develop new product processing and identify improvement areas.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to drive productivity, delivery, and service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Pass pre‑employment and annual physical, Cadmium/Chromium exam, and spirometry exam; wear a respirator.
- May need to participate in annual hearing conservation testing and eye exams.
- Wear appropriate PPE (glasses, goggles/face shield, aprons, boots, gloves, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to train and positively influence others.
- Self‑starter capable of working independently, in a team, and with internal/external customers.
- Excellent accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Problem‑solving skills for tactical and strategic issues.
- Learn and use Lean tools and techniques.
- Regular and dependable attendance record.
- Read/write/communicate in English and perform basic math.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; an export license may be required for all facility areas.
1–2 years in manufacturing or manufacturing production environment is a plus.
Essential Mental/Physical DemandsAbility to lift occasionally: floor‑knee 114 lbs., waist‑knee 63 lbs.
