Hytek production is open 24 hours per day, with shifts as follows: 1st shift (6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m.).
Job SummaryEmployees in this position use a variety of methods to process parts in preparation for plating and other coatings. The operators perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications. This is a trainee operator position in our Anodize department. Employees in this position will process a variety of parts. Anodize Operators may be required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program*.
- FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing.
- Work closely with an experienced Anodize Operator to complete work and prioritize tasks for on‑time delivery.
- Follow technique card, customer purchase orders and drawings, and instructions from experienced operators to prepare and process parts; prepare, understand, and document technique cards.
- Prepare parts prior to operations including racking; use proper tooling and fixtures when applicable.
- Legibly sign off on work once completed and after Operator Self‑Verification inspection has occurred.
- General review of paperwork and Operator Self‑Verification inspection of jobs to ensure all previous operations were completed; notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors.
- Know pre‑ and post‑cleaning surface finish requirements.
- Be familiar with Quality Assurance requirements and rework procedures.
- Know engineering drawing notations.
- Follow safety precautions and avoid injury to personnel.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to drive positive change in productivity, delivery, and service. Be involved in Kaizen events as needed either as a participant or supporter.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
- Other duties as assigned.
- May be required to join the FAA Repair Station program, including the FAA Drug & Alcohol random selection pool.
- Required to participate in annual hearing conservation testing.
- Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE based on working area requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to train and positively influence others.
- Must be a self‑starter, able to work independently, as a team, and with customers (internally and externally).
- Excellent accuracy with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to solve tactical and strategic problems and issues arising in this position.
- Ability to learn and use lean tools and techniques to solve tactical and strategic problems.
- Ability to multitask effectively.
- Must have a regular and dependable attendance record.
- Ability to read/write and communicate in English with customers and auditors.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (an export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility).
1–2 years in a manufacturing environment a plus.
