Anodize Operator (Trainee)

Reports to:

Production Managers (Value Stream or Shift)

Location:

Kent, WA

Type:
Full Time, Non-Exempt (hourly)

Schedule:

1st Shift

Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. All shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m.

- 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m.

- 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday - Friday, 10:00 p.m.

- 6:30 a.m.)

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with experienced Anodize Operator to complete work and prioritize tasks for On-Time delivery.
  • Follow technique cards, customer Purchase Orders and drawings, and instructions from experienced Anodize Operators to prepare and process parts; prepare, understand, and document technique cards.
  • Prepare parts prior to operations including racking; use proper tooling and fixtures, when applicable.
  • Legibly sign off on work once completed and Operator Self Verification inspection has occurred.
  • General review of paperwork and Operator Self Verification inspection of job to ensure all previous operations were completed. Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors.
  • Knowledge of pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements.
  • Familiar with Quality Assurance requirements and rework procedures.
  • Be familiar with engineering drawing notations and safety precautions to avoid injury.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to drive productivity, delivery, and service; participate in Kaizen events as needed.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • May be required to join the FAA Repair Station program, including the FAA Drug & Alcohol random selection pool.
  • Required to participate in annual Hearing Conservation testing.
  • Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and positively influence others.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently, as part of a team, and with customers (internal and external).
  • Excellent accuracy with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to solve tactical and strategic problems and use Lean tools and techniques.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and maintain regular, dependable attendance.
  • Ability to Read/Write/Communicate in English with Customers and auditors.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license may be required to work in all areas of the facility.
Education/Experience
  • 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Physical Demands

Essential Mental/Physical Demands:
Ability to lift occasionally up to 63 lbs.
