We are seeking a highly organized and dependable Maintenance Assistant Manager to join our team at Compass Resorts in Destin, FL. In this role, you will partner closely with the Maintenance Manager to coordinate, schedule, and dispatch daily maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to operations. The ideal candidate brings exceptional organizational and time-management skills suited to a fast-paced environment, along with clear communication, strong prioritization, and effective delegation abilities.
A team-oriented mindset with a proactive, solution-focused approach is essential to supporting maintenance operations and upholding high standards for both guests and property owners.
- Review, prioritize, and assign incoming maintenance requests based on urgency, scope, and technician availability.
- Coordinate and dispatch daily maintenance activities to ensure timely completion and minimal operational disruption.
- Serve as the central point of contact for maintenance communication across technicians, housekeeping, guest relations, owner relations, vendors, and leadership.
- Support the Maintenance Manager with daily planning, workload balancing, and operational decision-making.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors to schedule repairs, monitor progress, and ensure work meets company standards.
- Monitor open work orders to ensure tasks are completed accurately, documented properly, and closed in a timely manner.
- Track maintenance inventory, supplies, and parts usage, assisting with ordering and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Support emergency and after-hours maintenance coordination when required.
- 2+ years of experience in dispatch, property operations, or operations administration required, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
- Experience supporting or working alongside a maintenance manager or operations leader strongly preferred.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks, delegate work, and manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with technicians, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
- Comfortable using maintenance management software, scheduling platforms, ticketing systems, and other operational technology.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to learn and optimize new systems and workflows quickly.
- Working knowledge of general maintenance concepts (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and building systems) preferred, but not required to perform hands‑on repairs daily.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to drive company vehicles.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and after-hours as needed.
Hourly Rate: $26.00 - $28.00

Full‑Time Schedule, 30‑40 hours per week. 5 days per week. Weekends required. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and after-hours as needed.
